The the Yellow Belt stage may last from 3-12 months, depending on the prior skills and the pace at which they progress.
The Yellow Belter program aims to equip participants with the skills to become effective facilitators, coaches, and partners who can lead change initiatives in their communities and organizations. Participants learn how to facilitate dialogue, coach individuals and teams, co-create new partnership arrangements, and develop their leadership skills. Leading a downline BL Circle is an excellent way of practicing these skills.
The program consists of several components, including:
Dialogue facilitation: Participants learn how to facilitate productive dialogues that enable diverse stakeholders to collaborate effectively. They learn how to create a safe and respectful space for dialogue, manage group dynamics, and promote active listening and constructive feedback.
Leadership coaching: Participants learn how to coach individuals and teams to develop their leadership potential. They learn how to use coaching tools and techniques, set goals, provide feedback, and support individuals to overcome challenges and achieve their objectives.
Partnership development: Participants learn how to co-create new partnership arrangements that enable different stakeholders to work together towards common goals. They learn how to identify partnership opportunities, build trust, manage expectations, and develop effective governance structures.
BL Circle facilitation: Participants are eligible to facilitate BL Circles, which are peer-led learning communities that provide support and feedback to individuals who are working on leadership initiatives. Participants learn how to facilitate BL Circles, provide feedback, and create a supportive learning environment.
Personal development: Participants continue to develop their leadership self-awareness and practice new leadership skills. They are encouraged to reflect on their experiences, seek feedback from others, and apply new learning in their personal and professional contexts.
The program aims to create a network of leaders who can support each other in driving positive change in their communities and organizations.
Yellow Belters who are interested to progress to BL Blue Belt (Level 3) are expected to submit their portfolio to their BL Circle Facilitators for validation and sign the Commitment to Membership letter.
